Review on L'Oreal New Launch Magique Kajal

New L’Oreal Paris Kajal Magique Review

Hey gals,

This holiday season is real exciting and I had a great time on Christmas day. Well with the GOSF sale, Christmas offer and the New Year sale on I can’t resist the temptation of stuffing my house with all the products!
During the GOSF sale I found the new launch from L’Oreal at nykaa.com and immediately it went into my cart. It is the L’Oreal Paris Kajal Supreme Black Magique!!

Soon after the Maybelline Colossal, Lakme’s Eyeconic bandwagon I jumped to the L’Oreal Kajal Magique as well, as I love Kajals and the way it transforms my eyes. I own all the three and use them all and the new magique I have been using past week so thought of jotting down about the L’Oreal Kajal, the first ever launch from the brand.

Cleanser for Combination to oily acne prone skin in Winter

Vivel Cell Renew Pollution Protect Cleansing Cream + Scrub Review

Hey all,

Weekend has passed like a cloud but the weekdays are going very slow…wonder why….. Anyway with the season being winter I am trying to switch over my products to keep my skin clean and pimple free. My skin type in winter will be Combination (dry patchy cheeks and acne prone). If you have seen my recent post on the new launch of Vivel then you would probably know about the new range of cleansers.

Vivel’s Claim:

Claim was so attractive and that made me try the cleansing cream for the first time.
I got the 2 new cleansers among which 1 is gel based and the other is cream based. I have never used cream based cleansers so far as my skin is oily to combo. I have a HG cleanser which will never leave my routine but the evening cleansers keep changing. My usual cleanser which I use to remove all impurities from the all day work was too harsh on my winter combo skin and since my cheeks were getting I got the new Vivel Cell Renew Pollution Protect Cleansing Cream + Scrub.

The name itself looks so good and so I tried using it every evening to cleanse up skin from the entire day’s dirt and grime and what not…(first time a cream based cleanser)

Packaging:

Vivel has got a neat packaging with a flip cap that secures well. The squeeze tube works fine dispersing the required quantity of the cleansing cream. It is ideal for travel purpose and hence I love it.

Fragrance:

In short; lovely fruity fragrance. In a way for the fragrance I like using the cleansing cream as it energizes  and refreshes my senses with the scent.

Texture:

Although it is a cream cleanser it is not very thick and of semi liquid white cream which is almost runny. There are fine particles in the cream as scrub. The particles are not harsh on my skin and can be used daily. Although this cannot replace the regular weekly scrub I use.

Price: 50 ml for Rs 79

My take on the Cleansing Cream:

So here is how I use,

After coming home from work I splash some water on face and take the pea size quantity of the cream cleanser, rub between the fingers and apply on face with two hands. The fragrance is so good and the fine scrub particles are light and gentle to remove the dirt and impurities without clogging or drying out. It foams well and after about 30 secs of circular action I wash off and instantly I feel the smoothness and freshness on skin. I top it up with moisturizer (winter moisturizer). My cheeks do not feel dry or stretchy at all and the most important thing is never irritated the existing pimples nor caused any breakouts.

What I love..
  • Light cream cleanse
  • Fine scrub particles for everyday use
  • Not at all harsh
  • No clogging of pores but helps in de-clogging
  • Fragrance is fruity and I like it
  • No dry patches on cheeks, totally not drying
  • Did not cause whiteheads or breakouts
  • Affordable

Dislikes:
  • Actually nothing but wish they bring this cleansing cream in 30 ml or 10 ml for travelling purpose.

Overall I recommend to all those girls with combination skin (even oily to normal skin not sure about the dry skin) to try it out if you are looking for a gentle cleanser to scrub of all dirt & grime as well as cleanse well without leaving any dry patches.

My rating: 4.5/5

*PR Sample but the review is my own opinion*

My Wishlist for Birthday

Birthday Wish List:

Hi girls,

How are you people doing? It is a grudging day in my office and I’m pissed off lately. But I am kind of excited for this December month and shocking that this year is almost about to end. (6months over since I completed my Mechanical Engineering graduation :O and I still can’t believe it). Anyway next year January is my birthday and boy this time I have decided to celebrate for the first time real well (hopefully) because past 4 years
all through my college the day really sucked.

Anyhow I have made up a wish list for the first time and thought of jotting it down on my blog too :P. The list is nothing great just some little things which I would like to have or do on my day J

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner Review

Review on Maybelline Gel Eye Liner:

Hey girls,
One of my favorite and the first gel liner is from Maybelline Newyork. Maybelline is one of my favorite brands and the one that has made me got interests in makeup as well :P (mean years back :D)
Having bought so many products from Maybelline, gel liner seems to be my favorite.

Maybelline claims their gel liner to be

·         Only our oil-free formula can hold highly concentrated pigments in a clear gel base.
·         So color is more intense and lines resist wear for hours.
·         Smudge-proof and Water-proof.
·         The most intense line for lasting drama.

Read on to find if their claims are true..

Review on L'Oreal Paris Lip Crayon Glossy Balm - Peach Pleasure

L’Oreal Paris Lip Crayon Review:

Hey gals,
I am back with one of my recent purchase at the trip to Bangalore. I always wanted to get one of these chubby sticks as it is so famous in the blogosphere. I have the Lakme Lip tints and you know it costs a fortune. Both the L’Oreal Paris and Lakme pricing for their stick tints shocked me as I expected the pricing to be other way round.
Anyway back to the review, I love love love the Lakme Lip Tint in Grape Hint! I wanted to try the L’Oreal one for its price so picked up the shade Peach Pleasure.

Here is what I think of L’Oreal Glam Shine Balmy Gloss in Peach Pleasure

Nivea Body Lotion Review

Nivea Whitening Cell Repair & UV Protect Lotion:

Hey buddies,

How y’all doing? Winter is almost here and it is starting to get cold with rains & drizzles. Although it is pleasant it takes a toll on my skin by making the oily combo skin to combo dry skin with visible flakes on cheeks, hands etc whereas summers make my skin oily and sun exposure damages the skin. So either way I have to keep switching up my products as per season. I have a perfect moisturizer for the winters to keep my cheeks and face safe. For the body I ended up getting the one from Nivea. It is the Nivea Whitening Cell Repair & UV Protect Body Lotion.

This is the first time I got the lotion from Nivea being skeptical of how it would fare up. My body does not have any concerns as that of the acne prone face so can play a safe game J

Review on Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Color (Brownie Point)

Lakme 9 to 5 Matte Lip Color Review & Swatches:

Hye beauties,

Happy Weekend! Yayy it is finally weekend and I can do some window shopping. Seriously, I’m tired of all weekdays shopping online. (yes I do a lot in my office secretly;) What’s better at giving instant boost than this? ) This month is crazy for me with Diwali round the corner and I have ordered quite a lot of products from various online stores. I can’t wait to do haul as soon as the packages arrive.

I often wear Lakme 9 to 5 lipstick to office as it is the perfect one with all subtle shades to suit for all. The shade I bought is Brownie Point (MB3) from Lakme 9 to 5 range. I read many reviews of various shades online from my fellow bloggers and thought of going in for Tea Break or Coffee Command. When I swatch the shades, the two options I narrowed to where Brownie Point & Tea Break. I did not see much review on the Brownie Point but when tested on the lips by SA, it was the one and here is the review.

Review:Lakme Perfect Radiance Whitening Compact

Lakme Whitening Compact Review (Beige honey)

Hey dears,

I have loads of products up on the line to do reviews especially from the brand Lakme.  One such is the Perfect Radiance Whitening compact. Before I started getting obsession with the Ponds BB Cream, most days I go out just by dabbing some compact on my oily acne skin in summers and combination acne prone skin in winters with dry patches on cheeks.

Lakme Eyeconic Kajal Review

Current Favorite Kajal for Daily Wear

Review & Swatches on Lakme Eyeconic Kajal

Hey gals,

I am recently obsessed with the brand Lakme and I started using quite a lot of products from their range. Their products somehow suit my combination to oily acne prone skin. Love some products from both Lakme skin care and makeup range.
Guess I raved a lot as 90% of the products I try cause me breakouts but this brand gave me a little confidence to try. Been so long since I did reviews of any products so thought of starting up with the one I recently bought and fell for it.

It is the Lakme Eyeconic range: Mascara and the Kajal
I bought both but first used mascara and it was awesome to say in a word. I did not buy the Kajal as I had some good ones and 199 Rs seemed too high as well as Maybelline Colossal Kajal did not appeal me. Anyway I finally got my hands on it as the packaging, the colour and the stick tempted me.

September Vellvette Bag 2013

Velvette Bag of September – Anniversary Bag

Hey buddies,

I am so excited this week as I finally got a new phone (professional looking one as it is high time for me :p) and to the added surprise my late order Velvete bag also came. Also I apologize for being away for long due to my laptop problems.

Anyway Vellvette bag knocked the door serving as a pleasant surprise for me yesterday.  When I first opened it, the red pouch….. what a cutie…..I just drooled over it. I did not like their pink and black bag as it didn’t look good nor attracted me and also was a way too big.

This cute little polka dot red bag is just the size and bag I wanted when I saw the others bag in the blogosphere.

In the bag were the products I was hoping for.

  • Beauty UK eye Shadow Palette in naked
  • Organic Surge Shine Boost Shampoo for normal to oily hair
  • Lord & Berry Lip gloss in shade Romance

Beauty UK eye shadow palette in naked shade. I wanted this palette and not the colored one as I could use daily,, as for my expectation I received the same yayyy.
Next is the sample size bottle of the Organic shampoo for normal hair. It is 100 ml and makes it ideal for airplane travel, definitely worth trying.
Lord & Berry lip gloss shade in romance which I totally disliked after applying. It is kind of silver glitters applied on my lips and looks terrible on me.

I did not post last month’s velvette bag as I totally disliked it. Also thought of not subscribing anymore after the price hike from Rs 399 to Rs 499 per month, but the polka dot red pouch and the naked eye palette was the ones that urged me to get my hands on it. Vellvette has done a decent job in fact a great job as for their Anniversary bag is concerned.

I am not sure if I would re-subscribe it but for sure will if they continue to attract and bring a change to their future bags.
Overall I loved the September month's Anniversary bag and the products.

Love,
Adity Iyer

August Shopping Haul

August Shopping Splurge!! (Haul)

Hello dears,

I am pretty contented this August for doing a little shopping splurge..Some products which I thought wouldn’t be mine are now in my kitty bagJ J So with no further do I am clicking up pictures of what I shopped this time. All the products are beauty/ Makeup stuff mostly from shopping malls and online stores. Also few I did try out and turned out to be my love although I have not used for long to write a review on.

These cuties in my haul…

  •   Rimmel London Pressed Matte Powder
  •    Lakme Absolute Shine Eye Liner
  •   Lakme 9 to 5 Matte Lipstick
  •   Lakme Absolute Lip Tint
  •   Maybelline Water Shine Liquid Diamond Slims Lip Gloss
  •  Colorbar Velvette Matte Lipstick
  •  Maybelline Baby Lips
  •  Biotique Margosa Shampoo & Conditioner
  •   Pond’s BB+ Fairness Cream
  •   Lakme Perfect Radiance Night Cream
  •  Lakme True Wear Nail Color

Rimmel London Pressed Matte Powder:

With so many raves about this product thought of giving a try. Just used it once and is pretty good. Anyway let me use it for few days before saying any word about it.

Pond’s BB+ Fairness Cream:

Yayy I am on the second tube. Just love it and I have already reviewed here. Boy I was wrong the little tube had so much product that lasted me more than 2 months on daily use in the mornings.

Lakme Perfect Radiance Night Cream:
My new favorite. Saving up for the review which I'll do soon.

Lakme Absolute Lip Tint:

The chubby stick and all the ads tempted me to try. Though it is so costly and never worth for the price, I just got it for the shade, now this is what is splurge. Anyway had a voucher so redeemed it for the Lip tint. The tint and glossy effect is good but nothing great for its price.

Maybelline Water Shine Liquid Diamond Slims Lip Gloss (Naked Brown):

Now this is a perfect combo with the lakme 9 to 5 Brownie point. The glossy effect on
the matte long wear is suitable for daily office wear. The gloss can also be worn alone and still managed to give a beautiful tint and glossy effect to it.

Lakme Absolute Matte Lipstick:

I just loveeeeeee it, got in the shade Brownie Point and suits perfect for me. Tried few shades in the mall came up to Coffe Command and Brownie Point after trying the 2 chose the Brownie Point which looked more natural on lips. The staying power is true to its claim 9 to 5 JJJJ but it is matte effect and leaves the feeling of not wearing anything on my lips. The tint it leaves is natural and does not look like wearing any.

Colorbar Velvette Matte Lipstick in Bare:

After all the raves about this Velbette matte in shade Bare is a neutral tone, again suitable for every day wear for office. Just used once and I like it to some extent. Will try out enough and do a review may be the latest review in the blogosphere. :p

Maybelline Baby Lips:

Does it need any intro? I have all the tinted shades and Mango pie in the clear one. After using almost every day under lipstick or alone, the baby lips is over. So thought of giving a try to the last one left in the Baby lips range and hence the Antioxidant Berry.

Lakme Absolute Shine Eyeliner in Brown Glitter:

I have so many blacks and got it in brown glitter. The swatch was so good but on eyes it kind of looked pale or may be I am used with blacks. But with black thin liner and the brown glitter, the combo is different and good. So I will not use the brown glitter alone. Staying power is good.

Lakme True Wear Nail Color in Wildberry Mauve:

I just got it as a complement on buying other products. It is a beautiful mauve color which I am wearing now. I am not a nail person but the shade is still pretty convincing.

Biotique Margosa Shampoo & Conditioner:

So my all time shampoo Biotique Bio Kelp is an empty and with few flakes emerging up in my scalp thought of trying out the natural shampoo for the mild dandruff. Lets see how it flares…JOops I forgot to click a pic as I started using it. So that's all in all that I
shopped.

Have a great day!
Adity
