Brihans Pure Aloe Vera Skin Gel Review

Gone were the days when I used to have an aloe vera plant which I grew for a time pass..Seriously!! I never knew the goodness of it as my skin was clear then...only then.

Anyway when I was attacked with acne, everybody suggested me to use this and that but nothing worked. Even now I breakout but not so worse like before so I thought of trying aloe and I always use sandal on my face. Being so lazy and no time to grow the plant I found a cute pot with green gel; yes it is the Green Leaf Pure Aloe Vera Skin Gel from Brihans.

What attracted me to buy...

Natural Daily Look with ‘lil’ Makeup:

Hi buddies,

I am excited to share with you my daily wear makeup that gives a subtle yet a great look. I am fond of natural looks, covering major flaws and leave the rest as such.

Here comes my everyday wear...

For Face:

  • I prep my skin (oily/ acne prone) with the usual skin care routine. (For my skin care regimen click here)
  • Once moisturised, don’t opt for primer and foundation as it gives way too much coverage.
  • Take any for your favourite compact, swirl the fluffy brush on it and dust it all over the face.
  • Compact gives a light coverage and also keeps skin from oiliness.
  • Optional is using a blush on the cheek bones.

Eyes and Eye Brows:

  • Kajal/ Kohl & eyeliner are one of my favorites (for most of us right?)
  • I use a liquid eyeliner on eye lid whereas a blackest black kajal/kohl on my water line.
  • Finishing with one or two coats of mascara on the lashes makes eyes pop up brightening the face.
  • Using Black or brown brow pencil gives brows a neat shape and to darken.

Lips:

  • Using a clear lip balm is ideal for a daily wear or may be a tinted lip balm is my favorite.
  • Coating with gloss is up to us.

Thus in a max of 5 -10 minutes I’ll be ready to rock up the outfit with a natural glow.

So lemme know what you think of this and leave your comments to as it means a lot too me..:)

Winter Moisturizer for Combination / Oily Skin

Acne Moist Moisturiser:

Hey beauties,

How you doing? Today was a hard day for me with lots of works and tensions as usual. Anyway I still have the heart to do a review on a favorite product of mine; Acne Moist.

In the previous post of my winter skin routine, the moisturizer I used is the Acne Moist.

On the Box:

Acne Moist comes in a bright orange colored box while the product is in a neat squeeze tube and this is what is written on the box “Acnemoist is a specially formulated oil free moisturiser with jojoba and Pentavitin. It provides extensive moisturizing in dry skin without making the skin look oily. It also offers sun protection. Take adequate quantity in hand and apply it on the dry areas of face liberally”.

Key Ingredients:

Jojoba 3%, Pentavitin 1%, Octyl Methoxy Cinnamate 5%, MBBT 4%, Cream base

About the Moisturiser:

Acne moist is a cream base moisturizer. Surprised? Yes a “cream based” one for oily skin. It is of white color and the consistency is of semi liquid type. Application in very easy and the fragrance is so good for me but it does not linger long on the skin. A little quantity is enough to apply on the whole face (dry areas) and lasts long too.

It is not a cosmetic product but is available in medical/ pharmaceutical stores. No prescription is required to buy acne moist.

Price: Rs 125 for 30 g
(but the tube is filled with a lot of air LOL)

My Opinion:

The Acne Moist has really helped me a lot this winter. My skin (esp cheeks) has never been so dry all these years as my skin type is oily and acne prone which turns to combination skin in harsh weather. My regular moisturizer didn't do any good for my cheeks but this has given an excellent moisturization without making my face look oily.

The the best part of the acne moist is a cream based moisturizer gives the right moisturization with no oily look and the most important thing ‘never broke me out’; though it did not help with my existing acne but never worsened it.

In short this moisturiser suited me the best as no dry cheeks, no oily look and no acne or pimples it caused.
Acne moist is great for oily/ combination even to normal, dry skin but may not help on very dry skin.

Nexcare Acne Dots Review

Hey friends,

Here comes the first review on my blog and is about the Nexcare Acne dot which was hauled in previous post...

I had bad acne in my schooling but it is kinda ‘OK’ now although not completely free of acne. Those of u gals with pimples creeping out now and then will love these dots.

This is what is mentioned on the pack

  • Water based material acts like a sponge to absorb oily secretions; fluid or puss
  • Reduces hand contact and infection by acting as acne barrier
  • Waterproof yet breathable to expedite healing
Also mentioned is the clear How to Use steps

Package:

The packaging is neat and hygienic.  Once the box is opened there is a transparent cover with the dots. It can be stored after taking out one dot while the rest stays perfectly in the cover.

My take:

I get horrible breakouts on cheeks as my skin is oily and acne prone. How much ever I take care and follow the regimen at times it goes beyond the control. The only thing I look out for is the Acne dots from Nexcare. It is just a simple round sticker available in 2 sizes (3 dots in 12 mm & 4 dots in 8 mm). The size sounds funny but if you like me tired of breakouts and zits then you can very well relate to(:D)

This is how I use it; Peel either smaller or a bigger sticker and place it on the pimple. The sticker almost matches with that of my skin and is not clearly visible. (I don’t mind going out with the sticker on as it is far better for having a huge pimple also the dot prevents from further infections :P).

Effectiveness:

Yes the acne dot reduces the swelling and absorbs the puss. I let it stay on face as long as colour changes and definitely it wouldn’t be an overnight process.  But when I remove there is no pain and the bump is greatly reduced in size with no puss. The best part is that the pimple does not get dark leaving a blemish. If it is a smaller one it cures way sooner.

My Opinion:

I personally love the dots not only in absorbing the puss or reducing the size but also do not spread causing new ones.
But.....the dot does not vanish pimple overnight & only 7 dots in a pack(wish there were more for the price)

Price is 49 bucks..
